Villa Lena, Tuscany

It was Jesus who apparently said that to get to heaven, the road must be hard. And so you do have to survive a bumpy car ride to get to the promised Villa Lena. Set on top of a hill, this 19th century property has been turned into a haven of architecture, interior, art and food which overlooks gorgeous Tuscany.

We spent a couple of days there, back in September, enjoying the views from the pool terrace, walking around the vegetable garden, exploring the villa which now hosts artist residencies, eating delicious foods grown on the estate, and reading poems hung on the walls, all the while surrounded by a caring team which insured to make our stay memorable.
