Best banana bread in Paris: Café Oberkampf

One of the things I’ll miss the most about my life in Paris are the cafés I go to so often and love so much. You know, the cosy places where you always feel welcome, you sit for hours and chat with your friends, or bond with the staff, sip delicious coffees and treat yourself to tasty and simple food.

Café Oberkampf sits proudly at the top of my list of favourite cafés. It’s my place of choice for a comfy breakfast, an epic playlist and a heart warming cappuccino, made by Guy, the friendliest… guy. I go specifically for the banana bread, toasted with salted butter. I wouldn’t have it any other way, and neither should you! It is the best banana bread I’ve had in Paris: thickly sliced, moist, flavourful, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfectly balanced.

They’re very popular for their super instagram worthy Shashuka and the very famous “Lost in Cheeseland” grilled cheese sandwich, which you can eat while chatting with Lost in Cheeseland herself! Lindsey who was the first blogger I met in Paris and who knows her way around the best coffees in town is always around. Make sure to follow her! She has the cutest cats…

North East Paris is THE place to be at the moment, so if you’re staying near Oberkampf/Parmentier, or happen to be in the neighbourhood, pop by rue Neuve Popincourt and try the banana bread! You’ll thank me loads xx
