Our afternoon in New York was supposed to be relaxing: we walked up Madison Avenue to Lexington subway station and headed to the Upper East side. You see, I have been to a lot of places which I discovered for the first time. It was my first time in New York but I wasn’t discovering it. I’ve already seen all the places where we went and and this time, I was only able to see it with my own eyes. And it felt like being in a movie or in a TV show – Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Gossip Girl, HIMYM etc. Nevertheless, I loved it! And even though a lot of people had warned me that once I would be surrounded by all the skyscrapers I would never want to hear about them again, I felt very differently. To me New York seems like this city filled with this energy which seizes you and therefore makes you feel like you were given this amazing power to do anything! Ok back to the afternoon… Where was I… Oh yeah! The Upper East side! Julien and I stopped by a pretzel place to try one of those famous New York savoury pastries. Here’s me biting into one of them. It was nice, but to be honest, I’m not a big fan of pretzels and like hot dogs much better! A friend of mine, Alex, had advised me to go to the Met; and I decided to listen to him, so though Julien is not a huge fan of art museums, I still dragged him there. I wanted to go see their collection of Modern art and photographs first which were very amazing! I particularly enjoyed the photographs which were very various – different types, times, places etc. They’re very fun to look at. Once we were done with those galleries we just walked around the museum and got to see just a bunch of stuff. It’s crazy all the collections they have in there. I love going to museums but not necessarily to be entertained, but this one was a lot of fun! And you get a string quartet at the entrance! How awesome??
